My Room in the Garden
There is a room in my mind. The floor is green, the walls are made of wood. It smells of cut apple and cherry tree.
There is a room in my mind. It is not so far away. It is actually right outside the walls that usually shelter me.
There is a room outside. It is not fully defined. The ceiling of blue and white and gray and gold, of pink and of yellow and of cream.
In the summer, in the spring, in the autumn, when the sun shines down, you’ll find me in my room in the garden, happy, warm, and free.

A few years ago I was invited to a place, deep in the woods, where people go to have fun and drop the bounds of their clothing and just relax in the sun. Nothing wild, just a relaxing weekend in nature among friends. My life had made me be a bit more conservative than my friend’s lives, but gladly they didn’t mind.
The place was quiet. I spent much of the day in the cabin, or on the porch. Softly playing my guitar and reading. Polite people would walk by and wave, and I watched them spend the quiet day just taking in the cool summer weather beneath the trees. In comfort, we shared the gentle breeze that streamed through the shade of the tall pine. The wafting forest smells, just lovely.
Such a relaxing weekend. It was just what I needed. The time was so serene, I had to wonder what had made me resistant to visiting this special place with my friends for so long. As I sat on the porch of this gentle place, I thought to myself how judgement and fear had nearly made me miss this experience of quiet beauty.

There is a space in my garden where I can just be. The sun, the grass, my big towel, and me.

Nice bamboo fence
Smiles… Thank you. The picture of the bamboo and the photo in the header of the blog page (the one with the leaves) are from one of my favorite Japanese Gardens to visit. It is so nice to visit during the different seasons. I took both of these pictures on the same day. The day’s sun was perfect as it played with pastel light on my lense.
Somehow is doesn’t surprise me that you would like this one
