Garden Battles: Beating the Heat with Festival Food
Week two… of not working in the Garden, although I did do more testing of the “room.” It is starting to shape up as a nice little place to grab a tan, play with Mr. Blue and Mr. Yellow, blog, read, or catch up on some important chat. This weekend’s excuse was the temperature of over 100 degrees.
To beat the heat we open up the house at night and close it up in the morning (not having and air conditioner. For the few weeks we have of really bad heat out here, this seems to do just fine.
Two More Weeks…
Lately I’m kind of torn on what I want and need to do anyway. The count down has begun and there are only about two free weeks left before I need to start my new job. Uggga….
So between catching some needed rays, and making time with friends while I have the time, I ponder ways in which to keep to my new hobbies. Well, I’m considering at least one more, one I kind of started when I entered into semi-retirement, getting on my exercise bike and lifting some weights. And I will need it considering all of the…
Festival Food
So instead of working the garden, Dharma has been checking out the local festivals… and all of the yummy foods. The world beat festival was grand… the Micronesia combo plate was better. The hula women was amazing… the tempura chicken with peanut and sweet chili sauce was scrumptious… The fire dancers were daring, but not as daring as that single scoop(?) of Mt. Blackberry ice cream. Makes me remember what I loved about the summer.
Perhaps procrastinating buying clothes for the new job was really a good idea… I might not need to get a smaller size after all.
Where is that bike?
