Ingredients-
Butter or margarine
4-5 slices of bread from a medium sliced loaf
3/4 cup of sugar (can augment with 1/4 cup of brown sugar) with 1 tsp of cinnamon mixed in
1/2 cup of golden raisins (or more and various dried fruit and/or nuts)
2 cups of milk
2 eggs
Butter the bread and cut into triangles. Grease a 3-4 cup ovenproof dish and put in layers of bread, sugar and and raisins. Heat the
milk and pour over the beaten eggs (2 minutes on High, in a pyrex measuring cup works to just heat the milk and not boil...at low
altitude). Pour mixture over bread and fruit. Bake for 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees F. (177 C)

The bread pudding actually came out pretty darn good (cold and hot), but the part of it that inspired me to make it, the whiskey sauce, did not come out as I would have liked.  I&#039;m considering another go at the recipe but with a different whiskey sauce, perhaps even adding some crush wall nuts and some traditional &quot;spice&quot; or &quot;carrot&quot; cake makings... I have had a few that were a mixture of bread and spice cake that were unbelievable.
